Project

Kinetics Neo contains information about a loaded project and offers also the possibility to convert a DSC project into DSC Diffusion Control and vice versa.

Temperature Units (new since Kinetics Neo version 3.7): Here it is possible to set the temperature units for the current Kinetics Neo project. It can be one of three units: Celsius (°C), Fahrenheit (°F) or Kelvin (K). Here the user can change the units of the current project, and then all graphics, dialogs and exported data will contain temperature in the new units.

Temperature units which are set in the current project are also visible on the Status Bar on the bottom left part of Kinetics Neo window:

By clicking on current temperature unit (like Celsius in this example) the Project Settings form (see figure above) will be opened.

Set default temperature units for the new project: This command sets the above selected temperature units as the default temperature units for the new Kinetics Neo projects on your computer. This button is disabled if the selected temperature unit is already set as the default unit.

The last line in the Temperature units group informs user about the current default temperature units on this computer.

Actual Version: actual version of the Kinetics Neo project file. May be lower as the maximum possible version for the current release. In this case, some features of the newest version may be disabled. It is possible to save the current project file as the newest project file version to enable all the features.

Possible Version: maximum possible version of the project file for the current Kinetics Neo release. For compatibility reasons, it is possible to save the project file as an older version.

Convert to DSC Curing: DSC project (without Curing) can be converted to the DSC project with Curing or in opposite direction.

Convert to Arbitrary [Differential / Integral] : some projects can be converted to arbitrary projects where another signals can be analyzed and user can label the chart axes by himself.

Arbitrary Project Settings

When project is converted to Arbitrary type then it is possible to set the Signal Name and Signal Unit directly in the project panel:

Use Additional Parameter (Use External Parameter)

Set Use Additional Parameter (Use External Parameter) and select it from the list, if reaction rate of your process depends not on temperature only but on the second parameter like pressure, intensity of UV light or different reactant concentrations in two-component reactions.

Select an additional parameter from the drop-down list:

For two-component reactions the names of the reactants must be specified:

You can also read more details about Additional Parameter.
