Arbitrary Data

Support of Arbitrary Differential and Integral data is implemented in Kinetics Neo since version 3.0.

Project types for arbitrary data Arbitrary Differential and Arbitrary Integral are created for kinetic analysis of data which are not correspond to any of project type in New Project dialog:

Arbitrary Differential Project is suitable for differential data, containing the reaction peak like DSC. It could be for example, the data from mass-spectrometry or differential thermal analysis.

Arbitrary Integral Project for integral data is like TG. It could be the measured concentrations, conversion, storage modulus or other similar data, where measured property changes from initial value for reactant to the final value for product.

Both projects contain only standard evaluation and cannot be used for special evaluations for curing with diffusion control.

Arbitrary integral project works only with the measured data like DEA, Viscosity, and has no special recalculation from measured data to percentage like TG or DIL projects.

Model-Free and Model Based kinetic methods work here like for all other project types.

During the data import please set your Signal Name and Signal Unit for measured data. These values will be used in all evaluations, graphics and exported results.

For both arbitrary project types, the Signal Name and Signal Unit can be changed any time in File - Project

The Baseline Types for Arbitrary Differential Project are the same like for DSC project.

The Baseline Types for Arbitrary Integral Project are the same like for integral project without recalculation to percentage, for example, like DEA or Viscosity Projects.

Any non-arbitrary project can be converted to arbitrary project in the File- Project. Conversion back, for example from Arbitrary Differential to DSC is not possible.

The projects of the following types will be converted to Arbitrary Differential type:

  • DSC
  • DSC curing

The projects of the following types will be converted to Arbitrary Integral type:

  • TG
  • DIL
  • DEA
  • ARC
  • Viscosity
  • Rheometry

If original project contains the special modelling of curing with diffusion control, then after conversion to the arbitrary type this special modelling will be lost.

It is impossible to convert Arbitrary project to some special project type, because Arbitrary project does not contain any special features.
