Predictions: Adiabatic

Predictions of the signal, conversion, conversion rate, concentration or reaction rate can be made for various initial temperatures under adiabatic conditions. Adiabatic predictions are useful if the measurements are of type DSC or ARC.

First, a Method/Model (model-free or model-based) needs to be selected (here: Friedman), where only those models are offered with which the data were already analyzed.

  • Delta Temp. is the maximum change of temperature which is possible. It is equal to the reaction heat divided by the specific heat. A user must set DeltaTemp. manually, because the specific heat of the sample is unknown.
  • Minimal initial Temp. defines the minimal initial temperature.
  • Maximal initial Temp. defines the maximal initial temperature.
  • Temperature Step is the difference between each initial temperature.
  • Maximal Time is the duration of each simulation.

Default values are suggested by the software according to the experimental data.

Show Temperature program can only be activated if the X-axis unit is set to time.

Press Calculate for calculations/update of calculations.

In this example, the simulated signal curves are shown together with the simulated temperature curves as a function of time for various initial temperatures.
